What BYO Actually Means — And What Happens to Your Item
BYO stands for Bring Your Own — and it's one of the things we're most proud of at Dream. The idea is simple: you have something you love, something you already own, and you want it personalised. You don't need to buy a new item from us. You bring yours, and we make it into something even more special.
Here's exactly what that looks like from start to finish.
It starts with a conversation
Most BYO orders begin with a WhatsApp message. You tell us what you have, what you're thinking, and we take it from there. There's no form to fill in, no guessing — just a real conversation with someone who can tell you honestly what's possible, what will look best, and what to expect before anything is confirmed.
We come to you
Once we've aligned on the idea, we arrange collection directly from you — anywhere in Dubai, at a time that works. Your item is picked up by our own driver, not a third-party courier. It comes to our studio, and it stays with us until it's ready to come back to you.
Your item gets the full treatment
This is where the work actually happens — and it's more involved than most people realise.
Every BYO order is handled by a dedicated team member who oversees it from the moment your item arrives. Depending on the service:
For embroidery, your design gets digitised — converted into a stitch file — and thread colours are selected and confirmed with you. Size and placement are agreed before anything is stitched.
For engraving, a mockup is prepared and placement is confirmed with you before the laser touches your item.
For print, a mockup is created showing exactly how the design will sit on your piece, and placement is confirmed before we print.
Nothing happens until you've seen it and said yes. That step matters to us — your item is in our hands, and we treat it that way.
We deliver it back to you
When your piece is ready, we bring it back — again, our own driver, directly to your door in Dubai. No third-party handoffs, no tracking anxiety. It arrives the way it left: carefully.
A note on pricing
One signature piece costs more than the same design across multiple items — that's just the nature of custom work. The time, the setup, the care involved is the same whether we're doing one or ten. But if you're thinking about multiples — a set of glasses, a collection of bags, matching pieces for a group — the rate improves. Worth mentioning when you first reach out so we can give you an accurate picture.
